École Clearbrook Elementary Celebrates Carnaval de Québec Week

École Clearbrook Elementary recently brought a taste of winter tradition to the school community during its annual Carnaval de Québec celebration.

Throughout the week, students took part in festive activities that celebrated French culture and community spirit. Highlights included a PAC-hosted pancake breakfast, where families and staff gathered to enjoy a warm start to the day, as well as a special visit from Bonhomme, a beloved symbol of Carnaval.

Pink Shirt Day 2026: How Students and Staff Stand Together Against Bullying

Schools across the Abbotsford School District were filled with pink today as students and staff united to stand against bullying and promote kindness, respect, and inclusion.

At McMillan Elementary School, members of the Joy and Kindness Club began the morning with colourful chalk art at the front of the school, reminding everyone walking in that kindness is cool. Their messages set the tone for Pink Shirt Day and reflected the heart behind their club’s work.

Shared Learning Conference 2026 and Pro-D Day of Learning

District staff members came together for our annual Shared Learning Conference, a powerful day of professional growth and collaboration focused on student success.

This year’s keynote speaker, Dr. Keith Carlson, Professor of History at the University of the Fraser Valley and a Tier One Canada Research Chair in Indigenous and Community-Engaged History, challenged district staff to think differently about the stories we tell and the perspectives we centre in our work.

Happiness After the Storm: A Mural of Belonging and Hope at Rick Hansen Secondary

A mural titled Happiness After the Storm now welcomes students and staff at Rick Hansen Secondary School. Created through the leadership of a dedicated teacher and in collaboration with students from the RHSS Pride Alliance, the mural is a powerful visual reflection of representation, community, and hope.

The mural spans four panels, each representing a season of the year. Together, they tell a story of celebration and resilience across communities that have historically been underrepresented or marginalized.
